Immersive Theatre Advanced Course

The advanced course deepens both the theory and especially the practice of immersive performances and game performances.

It teaches different ways of inviting the audience into a performance, concrete mechanisms of negotiating consent, and offers a closer look at the most commonly used game structures in immersive performances. Particular attention is given to how to open pathways for multisensory participation by the audience. The course also addresses funding for immersive performance, both in Finland and internationally.

The course has a specific content and plan, but its central aim is to support the participating artists in the questions that are most essential to them in relation to immersive performance.

The workshop focuses on design and realization of immersive performances and game performances. It’s meant as an advanced course for those who have already completed the Immersive Theatre Workshop or a similar training elsewhere.

FOR WHOM

The workshop is meant especially for professionals and students of performing arts. If you are not part of these groups, it’s still possible to attend if you have completed basics of immersive theatre somewhere else.
